NATURE OF WORK
Verita Telecommunications is looking for a Diesel Mechanic with 2-3 years experience. The mechanic will work alongside a team of mechanics to maintain and repair the fleet.
REQUISITE SKILLS
- Advanced knowledge of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles and the vehicle systems.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
- Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
- Ability to read/understand wiring diagrams and other system schematics
- Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
- Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
- A valid driver’s license
- Good interpersonal skills
- Effective collaboration and communication skills
- Proficient in time management
- Own a full set of mechanic’s tools to adequately perform repairs
- Exercise safe, effective, and efficient work practices
Education / Certification:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license
- Applicable ASE/State certifications preferred
Physical Requirements / Aptitude:
- Able to move in different positions – crouching, kneeling, reaching, bending and lifting 75 lbs., unassisted.
- Works well with small hand and power tools.
Other:
- Available to work nights and be on-call; willing to work overtime when required; to work in all-weather conditions.
- Proficient in fabrication/welding preferred.
- Self-motivated and able to work well in groups.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Follow goal-oriented repair processes.
