SANTEE COOPER is Hiring an Electrical Engineer III Near Moncks Corner, SC
- Studies the daily and short-term operations and develops procedures and guidelines to ensure the safest, most reliable, and most economic operation of the power system and lake system.
- Performs power flow simulations using Power System Simulation/Engineering Software (PSSE) for the following studies:
- Evaluation of transmission system outages required for maintenance in the daily, weekly and monthly horizons.
- Evaluation of transmission system outages required for construction projects.
- Performs dynamic stability studies in the next day horizon.
- Performs the power flow simulation of seasonal operating conditions anticipated on the transmission system and develop operating procedures and guidelines.
- Provides recommendations to management regarding outage impacts to the transmission system.
- Maintains the operational PSSE power flow cases for internal and external use.
- Provides training to System Operators on the results of the seasonal power flow simulation.
- Performs the evaluation of lake elevations to optimize the operations of Santee Cooper’s hydro units.
- Maintains the automated notification system for lake system stakeholders.
- Generates the daily generation dispatch study and analysis using the Gentrader Economic Dispatch model.
- Maintains internal procedures to ensure compliance with NERC, SERC and VACAR procedures and requirements.
- Manages and reports energy accounting data such as generation, load and interchange.
- *Will consider Engineer I, II, III or Senior.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited College or University.
- FE certification preferred.
Engineer II
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited College or University 2 years of experience.
- FE certification preferred.
Engineer III
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited College or University 5 years of experience.
- FE certification required.
Senior Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited College or University 8 years of experience.
- PE License required.
