PositionTends fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punch, that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Read job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Weld to build parts or create repairs
- Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects and machine malfunction.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, and scale from work pieces.
- Perform minor machine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot machine operations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without assistance, more with assistance.
- Structured training or relevant work experience.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to reason and problem-solve as it pertains to position.
- Ability to learn and navigate manufacturing software.
