Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' communication and swallowing abilities, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that address specific communication and swallowing difficulties, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
  • Implement a variety of therapy interventions, including speech therapy, language therapy, and swallowing therapy, to improve residents' communication, cognitive, and swallowing skills.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic care for residents.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Educate residents and their families on communication strategies, swallowing techniques, and home exercise programs to promote continued progress.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure:
    • Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California.
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Experience:
    • Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) experience is not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for communication and swallowing disorders.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
    • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule
  • Full-time: 40 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, with a weekend day rotation.
