- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' communication and swallowing abilities, identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that address specific communication and swallowing difficulties, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
- Implement a variety of therapy interventions, including speech therapy, language therapy, and swallowing therapy, to improve residents' communication, cognitive, and swallowing skills.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic care for residents.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Educate residents and their families on communication strategies, swallowing techniques, and home exercise programs to promote continued progress.
- Education:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure:
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience:
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) experience is not required.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for communication and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full-time: 40 hours per week.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with a weekend day rotation.
