POSITION AVAILABLE: Special Education Paraprofessional
POSITION LOCATION: Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC) with placement at the ELC – Montevideo.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The Special Education Paraprofessional provides assistance to children, teachers &/or mental health professional/practitioner in providing an appropriate, safe learning environment to students enrolled in special educational programs. Some students may have challenging behaviors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Proof of Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certification; new paraprofessional must be certified within two weeks of hire date;
· Successfully obtain CPI certification through training provided by SWWC;
· Passing score (80% or better) on SWWC Level 1 skills assessment; passing score must be obtained by the end of the introductory period to continue employment;
SALARY: Position to begin 08/06/2024. Paraprofessionals start at $19.00/hour and up, depending upon education, qualifications and experience; includes benefits. Working 6.5 hours per day with a 30-minute duty free lunch break, Monday – Friday.
