School Resource Officer

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct regular patrols of school buildings, grounds, and parking areas.

• Monitor surveillance cameras to detect and prevent security breaches.

• Control access to the school premises by monitoring entry points and verifying credentials.

• Ensure visitors follow check-in procedures and provide assistance as needed.

• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.

• Implement emergency procedures, including lockdowns and evacuations, in collaboration with school administration.

• Work closely with school administrators, teachers, and other staff to address security concerns and develop effective safety strategies.

• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.

• Document all security-related incidents, including observations, actions taken, and outcomes.

• Provide detailed reports to school administrators and, if required, law enforcement.

• Maintain effective communication with students, staff, and visitors, promoting a positive and secure atmosphere.

• Communicate and enforce school policies related to safety and security.

• Conduct security awareness training for school staff and participate in drills to ensure preparedness.

• Provide guidance to students on safety protocols.

• Investigate security breaches, thefts, or other incidents as assigned.

• Gather evidence, interview witnesses, and report findings to relevant authorities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional security-related training is a plus.

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.

• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and security protocols.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, sound decisions.

• Physical fitness and ability to perform security-related tasks, including standing for extended periods and conducting patrols.
