KARMA is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Moreno Valley, CA

Quality Inspector 

The Quality Inspector - KICC will be responsible for performing tests on products at all stages of production to ensure that regulatory, company, and customer specifications are met and followed.

This person must be able to comprehend design drawings and schematics with understanding of basic GD&Ts and electrical principles in accordance with design and performance standards set by engineering, suppliers, manufacturing, and quality.
This role will require great attention to detail with excellent technical and math abilities. Written and verbal communication, follow-up, and follow-through are all critical skill sets required to show the problem, root cause, and countermeasures implemented.

Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Conduct incoming and outgoing inspection to reduce scrap and customer complaints.
  • Conduct material testing (aluminum, plastic, paint) to prevent building with defective parts and materials.
  • Ensure that all the quality check procedures are in place and are followed during production phase.
  • Read, understand, and follow all Karma Quality Standards. Know how to reference when needed.
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • Maintain MRB process though good decision making, communication, and accurate reporting.
  • Reject, quarantine, and escalate any inspection findings by generating Quality Alert in a timely manner.
  • Follow RMA process, working with Supplier Quality and Finance and other interested parties.
  • Support Supplier Quality to collect/analyze/complete non-conformance reports.
  • Participate in corrective and preventive actions as well as continuous quality improvements.
  • Participate in Lean/Kaizen events and or Six Sigma Projects as needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical school (mechanical/electrical/paint engineering) or practical experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Software – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. to document and present findings.
  • Familiar with SAP systems preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in quality control/assurance in automotive, aerospace, or related industry.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of BIQ (Built-In Quality) or Quality at the Source (QAS).
  • Proficient in documenting, reporting, analyzing, acquiring data, and presenting status.
  • Experience using dimensional verification hand tools: calipers, micrometers, feeler gages, point-mic, etc. 
  • Strong analytical skills utilizing common problem-solving tools – Ex. 5Why’s, 8D, 7 Diamonds, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), as applicable.
  • Knowledge in Six Sigma Green Belt is desired but not required (but must be willing to learn).

  • Ability to bend, turn, and stoop occasionally.
  • Ability to sit or be stationary for extended continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, up to the duration of the shift at times.
  • Ability to go up and down stairs.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and periodically 50 lbs.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing their job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend approximately 30% (excluding breaks and meal periods) of time in an office environment and 70% of the time in the manufacturing/warehouse floor. When working in the warehouse, it requires the use of personal protective equipment, including (but not limited to) steel toe shoes, bump caps, safety goggles, and reflective colored vest. The use of earplugs may be required in certain areas.

Compensation:

$22/per hour - $27/per hour. Compensation will vary DOE. 

At Karma, our base pay is one part of our total rewards package.

Compensation offered may vary on multiple factors, including market location, education, skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position being offered.
