Billing Specialist, reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will focus on billing operations and ensuring timely collection of Accounts Receivable. The Billing Specialist will develop relationships with the sales department and customers and be instrumental in improving the speed and accuracy of billing as well as performing other complex accounting activities to support the team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform invoicing duties, including review of customer contracts, running invoicing reports, compiling data, and invoice delivery
• Generate and review aging reports and statements of account with follow-up of outstanding Accounts Receivable
• Perform customer account reconciliations and track accrued and deferred revenue
• Record journal entries and other approved financial adjustments for customer accounts and contracts, including credits, accruals, and prepaids
• Conduct weekly reviews of the billing and accounting systems for revenue and related accounts to ensure accuracy
• Track customer tax eligibility status and sales tax jurisdiction
• Manage customer portals and process customer supplier forms
• Evaluate processes and make recommendations for improved efficiency and accuracy
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with proficiency in billing
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles
• Work experience in a fast paced and high-growth company, with specific responsibilities in revenue recognition and knowledge of close processes
• SaaS business experience
• Excellent Excel skills
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and SalesForce
• Experience with Maxio (formerly SaaS Optics) and/or Avalara, a plus
