***MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEER*** Description: Currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer! The Manufacturing Process Engineer will support production as it begins as a steel rod, which goes through an extrusion process (heating the metal), and then a 2-3 step "Upset" process which is how it shapes the material. The facility currently has 200 different active part numbers. The have a large forge shop with CNC Machining, Laster Cutters, and various others.
The selected candidate will spend 80% of their time supporting process improvement, continuous improvement activities, downtime investigations, and quality initiatives. Examples of this would include part returns that have defects and determining whether process or operator error. Any machine upgrades, capital projects, or quality process change would be lead or assist on by this candidate. 20% would be supporting plant meetings, potential customer solutioning, and potential leadership activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications: Must Haves
1. Bachelors of Engineering (Preference BSME, but MET also works. IE if very relevant experience)
2. 1-7 years of post graduation work experience. Preference is 2-4
3. Job Shop/Machining/Forging type manufacturing experience
4. Continuous improvement, process improvement, quality investigations experience
5. Strong communication skills
Plus 1. Any leadership experience
2. Forging experience
