Wainwright, A Division of Modineer is Hiring a Welding Engineer Near Niles, MI
Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00AM to 5:00PM) extended hours may be required to support business needs
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Review/preparation of welding and process instructions, standards, and specifications
- Cycle time improvements and production efficiency gains on assigned equipment
- Provide training for personnel, both technical and production
- Assist in development and operations of other weld and assembly cells
- Modify computer-controlled robot movements
- Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components
- Develop robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality
- Assist in the design, configuration, or application of robotic systems
- Set-up and troubleshoot robotic systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor, or feedback
- Develop, conduct, and coordinate welder training classes for support technicians in application and validation of weld process
- Developing welding techniques and procedures for robotic welding operations
- Inspects weld joints and conducts tests to ensure welds meet company standards, national code requirements, and customer job specifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Must be available after hours
- Weekend support might be needed occasionally
- Occasional travel might be needed
- Multi-tasking with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Must have outstanding organization skills
- Strong experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Minimum of two years’ experience is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
- Must be able to work safely and move at a moderate to fast pace across specified terrain for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift to 40lbs on occasion
- Manipulate medium to large objects, materials, or tools on occasion
- Use arms/legs continually and repeatedly over an extended period
Other (e.g., Customer Contact Or Access To Confidential Information)Must be able to work as part of a team. Must maintain confidentiality when working on assignments.
