Licking County is Hiring a Deputy Sheriff Near Newark, OH

Position DescriptionDeputies provide law enforcement services to the citizens of Licking County. Those services include but are not limited to: investigating criminal and non-criminal complaints, enforcing the laws of the State of Ohio, traffic crash investigation, traffic violation enforcement, serving court issued papers, arresting offenders, testifying in court and prepares reports.
Brief DescriptionThe Licking County Sheriff’s Office is seeking qualified candidates to build an eligibility list to fill current and future positions as Deputy Sheriffs.
Job PrerequisitesMinimum Qualifications: 21 years of age, US citizen, valid Ohio driver’s license, high school diploma or general equivalency diploma and an Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy Basic Peace Officer Training Academy certification.
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications): Upon hire, candidate must successfully complete the agency’s Field Training Program.
CompensationSalary: Based on current Labor Agreement
$24.82/hour (starting salary)
$29.67/hour (after two years of service)
