Position Statement

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) shares responsibility of clinical oversight in the primary care clinic with the Clinical Nurse Manager and supports the integration of new programs, procedures, and clinical operations. The ANM will also assist the Medical Group Educator in coordinating orientation, education, training, and professional development of new and existing clinical staff. Integral to the role, is a deep understanding of clinic procedures and workflows with the ability and flexibility to assume a nursing assignment as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists Nurse Manager in maintaining clinical staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage and efficient clinic operations.
• Provides input and feedback on clinical staff to Nurse Manager for annual performance evaluations.
• Covers for Nurse Manager in their absence.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Registered nurse with valid VT licensure.
• 3-5 years of clinical experience in ambulatory care, preferably in a primary care practice.
• 1-2 years of leadership in ambulatory care, preferably in a primary care practice.
