Description

In this role, you will provide support, leadership, and direction to the Company’s Distribution Centers in food safety, product quality, and sanitation, including on-site assessments of Distribution Center conditions and coordination of outside audits of facility food safety, product quality, and sanitation conditions.

Essential Functions

• Work with Distribution Center leadership on compliance with food safety, product quality, and sanitation requirements.
• Act as an active contributor on the Distribution Center Management Team to meet all food safety, product quality, and sanitation objectives.
• Provide subject matter expertise to the Distribution Center Management Team on applicable regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and lead all third-party audits of Distribution Centers for food safety, product quality, and sanitation.
• Lead quality systems management, development/maintenance of SOPs, GDP practices, consumer concern investigations, validation, verification, and calibration programs.
• Provide leadership to Distribution Centers in situations where deviations have occurred with respect to food safety, product quality, and sanitation, or a potential risk has been identified related to the same.
• Develop data capture and analysis capabilities within the Distribution Center business to support continuous process and product improvement related to food safety, product quality, and sanitation.
• Ensure proper management of the Distribution Center Food Defense program.
• Ensure appropriate facility monitoring activities to ensure that all key SOPs related to food safety, product quality, and sanitation are followed.
• Ensure Distribution Center management of product hold and release programs.
• Ensure Distribution Center management of facility pest prevention program, including communications with third-party pest providers.
• Ensure Distribution Center management of the facility sanitation program, working in coordination with the Distribution Center Safety, Sanitation, and Compliance Manager.
• Ensure completion of food safety, product quality, and sanitation system documentation to verify compliance with program standards. Report deviations to the Distribution Center Management Team and Supervisor.
• Develop and ensure implementation of mandatory food safety, product quality, and sanitation program requirements.
• Report to Company Senior Leadership on food safety, product quality, and sanitation metrics in the Distribution Centers.
• Perform frequent, comprehensive on-site audits of Distribution Centers for food safety, product quality, and sanitation.

Requirements

• Experience in the implementation and maintenance of GDP Programs.
• Demonstrated leadership in the areas of food safety, product quality, and sanitation in a warehousing environment.
• HACCP training is required.
• Strong corrective and preventive action/resolution skills.
• Able to prioritize and handle multiple issues simultaneously, under tight time constraints.
• Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally, including with third-party food safety, product quality, and sanitation auditors.
• Serve as a contact for government and outside entities such as the Food and Drug Administration during on-site inspections of Distribution Centers.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the field.
• 5-10 years of food safety, product quality, and sanitation experience in a warehousing environment.
• Extensive knowledge of FDA and other food safety, product quality, and sanitation standards, and guidelines.
• Professional certifications are preferred.
• Travel approximately 80%
