Position Overview: Are you a skilled Mold Maker with a passion for precision and a knack for troubleshooting?
As a Mold Maker, you'll be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our molds, contributing to our commitment to excellence. The Mold Maker will create, adapt, and adjust molds used in cast manufacturing. Job Description: Key Responsibilities:
1. Injection Mold Maintenance and Repair: Utilize your experience to perform maintenance and repair tasks on injection molds, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
2. Toolroom Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain toolroom equipment, including Mill, Surface Grinder, EDM, and Lathe, to support mold maintenance and repair processes.
3. Mold Assessment: Inspect and assess mold core and cavities, referencing solid models and 2D drawings to ensure quality and accuracy.
4. Preventative Maintenance: Execute preventative maintenance procedures for injection molds to prevent downtime and production interruptions.
5. Defect Troubleshooting: Investigate defects in injection molds, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to resolve issues.
6. Self-Starter: Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 7. Collaborative Team Player: Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues across various departments, including tooling, engineering, molding, and quality, to achieve shared objectives. 8. Accountability: Take ownership of assigned repair work, ensuring timely and high-quality completion.
Essential Functions: 1. Mold Disassembly: Disassemble mold tooling for cleaning and repair, following established procedures. 2. Tooling and Mold Design: Participate in the construction of new tooling and mold designs, contributing your expertise to enhance product quality. 3. Fitting Operations: Perform final fitting operations on purchased or repaired components to ensure proper assembly. 4. Blueprint Interpretation: Work from blueprints, sketches, and general instructions to disassemble, inspect, repair, and assemble various molds, tools, and mechanical equipment. 5. Innovative Solutions: Collaborate on the development of new tooling and mold designs to continually improve our manufacturing processes.
Duties/Responsibilities: Constructs, adapts, and modifies molds for plastic injection molding, die cast tooling, metal stamping, and other molding operations. Creates initial molds based on specifications from design team, blueprints, or schematics. Uses various measuring and gauging tools to perform necessary inspections before, during, and after molding operations. Sets up equipment based on mold requirements, materials, and tolerances. Executes production runs; conducts quality control testing before mold enters production cycle. Maintains knowledge of materials and products. Assists machinists and millwrights with injection molding process and equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: Thorough understanding of machinery and mold creation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Thorough understanding of applicable safety rules.
Education and Experience: Successful completion of a formal apprenticeship program, technical school training program, or company-provided training program required.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time. Superior manual dexterity, muscular control, and delicate touch necessary to complete precision work without damaging valuable molds. Compensation: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
