About The Revenue Accounting Manager RoleVetCor is looking for a dynamic Revenue Accounting Manager to ensure that all revenue transactions have been properly accounted for and accurately reflect Vetcor’s accounting policies and procedures so that the Company’s financial results are fairly presented in accordance with GAAP. Additionally, this role will manage and support Vetcor’s lease accounting team to ensure all leases are accounted for in accordance with Vetcor’s lease accounting policies and procedures.
Revenue Accounting Manager is an “in-the-weeds” position requiring strong critical thinking, open session brain-storming, and heavy interaction with many other areas of our business. In this role, you will be utilizing your accounting expertise to provide the following for Vetcor’s national network of 850 veterinary hospitals located across the United States and Canada. This is a remote position although occasional travel and office days may be required. This individual will ideally live in the greater Boston or Salt Lake City areas.
Revenue Accounting Manager Responsibilities
  • Research FASB Accounting Standards Codification guidance, and other authoritative materials and resources to provide accounting recommendations for new and existing revenue contracts and business development deals
  • Document existing revenue channels and identify opportunities for improved financial reporting and analysis
  • Document, prepare and post revenue transactions and journal entries in accordance with GAAP (ASC 606)
  • Provide direct accounting support to the business development team to ensure that new acquisitions are onboarded in compliance with existing accounting guidelines and business policies and procedures
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries (monthly, adjusting, and/or recurring) and related reconciliations for month-end and year-end closing
  • Manage and support direct report staff with varying skill sets and backgrounds
  • Support the Controller and CFO through continuous improvement, process documentation, cross-training, internal controls, and project work as necessary
  • Reconcile and research financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information and providing recommended solutions
  • Provide accounting support to team as needed for hospital acquisitions
  • Prepare, support and research monthly Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and P&L variance analysis for individual Hospitals, Locations and Regions
  • Provide information and support to the external auditors and tax professionals as needed in support of our annual audit and federal/state income tax preparation
  • Assist as needed with the transfer of critical financial information between the General Ledger Accounting System and key outside sources and systems, including a variety of local Hospital database systems, and revenue transaction reports from 3 rd party suppliers
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports to support communication within the broader organization
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support and build a high growth, fast-paced accounting organization
Revenue Accounting Manager Qualifications And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, with a minimum 4 years of experience and a documented history of developing roles and responsibilities
  • Master’s Degree preferred, strong preference for CPA certification, or qualified CPA candidate
  • Strong preference for individuals with ASC 606/842 experience, public company accounting experience and an understanding of GAAP
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft applications
  • Experience with Great Plains, Sage Intacct or similar mid-market accounting systems a plus
