United Methodist Communities is currently seeking a Cook for The Shores, our Senior Care Community located in Ocean City, NJ within picturesque Cape May County.

Requirements for a Cook:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years of cooking and meal preparation.
  • 3-4 years of related work experience. No supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities for a Cook:

  • Ensures quality meal preparation including the following: consistency, presentation, flavor, and temperature.
  • Ensures safe food preparation including receiving, storage, cooking, service, holding, cleaning and sanitation of tools and workspace.
  • Fiscal stewardship of resident spends by following recipes, preparing food quantities as instructed, batch cooking and using proper cooking methods and techniques.
  • Integral part of the production team supporting all dining programs (catering, events, retail, etc.).
