Responsibilities:

  • Responding to emergencies. Firefighters respond to a variety of emergencies, including fires, medical calls, hazardous materials, and road traffic collisions. They must evaluate the situation quickly to determine the needs of victims, the likelihood of the fire spreading, and other factors.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Completion of a certified fire academy training program but not required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including criminal history check
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- Physical fitness and agility to perform job duties effectively
