Meadowbrook Church Incorporated is Hiring an Assistant Principal Near Ocala, FL

Meadowbrook Academy is currently seeking to hire an Assistant Princpal for an immediate opening for the 24/25 school year. This individual should be an active and dedicated Christian who is a member of Meadowbrook Church (MBC) or willing to become one. A person who will hold in confidence matters of information that may be sensitive to the well being of others. A person committed to excellence in their responsibilities. Below you will find the Qualifications and experience needed as well as a General Description of the position and list of expected (but not limited to) Job Products. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education - Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from an accredited college or university.

· Experience - Minimum of three (3) years successful classroom teaching experience.

· Computer Skills – Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology, as required for the position.

· Other Requirements - Knowledge of current educational trends and research.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

· Communication - Ability to communicate effectively with others orally and in writing.

· Problem Solving – Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.

· Working Under Pressure – Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.

· Ability to prepare and manage the school’s budget and allocated resources.

· Ability to read, interpret and enforce the DOE rules and standards, Code of Ethics, Accreditation policies, and appropriate state and federal statutes.

· Ability to use effective interview techniques.

· Ability to use effective coaching and evaluation procedures.

· Ability to use group dynamics and interaction skills.

· Skill in personnel management and supervision techniques.

· Ability to analyze and use data.

REPORTS TO:

· Principal

JOB GOAL:

· To aid the Principal in providing leadership and vision necessary to create a culture conducive to students learning at the highest possible level and assist in the operation of all aspects of the school.

SUPERVISES:

· Administrative Staff, Instructional and Non-Instructional Staff, Coaches, Students and Parents

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

These examples are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed in a position allocated to this class. · Assist in the development, implementation and assessment of the instructional program.

· Assist in the administration of the testing program.

· Assist in establishing a vision and mission statement.

· Assist in the development of the School Improvement Plan.

· Assist in the development of the Master Schedule and assignment of staff.

· Assist in developing the best possible environment for teaching and learning.

· Supervise assigned personnel, conduct annual performance appraisals, and make recommendations for appropriate employment actions.

· Assist in providing staff development through in-service training and other developmental activities.

· Maintain and model high standards of professional conduct.

· Model effective listening and positive interaction skills.

· Assist in implementing all local, state and federal laws.

· Assist appropriate staff in textbook, materials, and equipment selection.

· Assist in developing short- and long-range facility needs.

· Assist in maintaining property inventory records and providing security for all equipment.

· Assist in managing student conduct on school grounds and after-school activities.

· Supervise and monitor the accurate and timely completion of data collection and reporting requirements.

· Assist in providing a comprehensive student services plan including guidance and attendance.

· Assist in monitoring proper student conduct and implementing discipline to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

· Provide guidance and expertise in dealing with difficult discipline problems.

· Assist in supervising school personnel assigned to special projects and activities.

· Understand and utilize collaborative planning strategies.

· Maintain visibility and accessibility on campus.

· Assist in conducting staff meetings to discuss policy changes, instruction and potential problems.

· Assist in gathering data for instructional improvement.

· Assist in monitoring and meeting accreditation requirements.

· Assist in supervising all extracurricular activities and maintaining a calendar of events.

· Assist in providing recognition and celebration for students, staff, and school honors.

· Work with parents in resolving concerns.

· Assist in developing a positive school image.

· Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.

COLLABORATION

· Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents, and the community.

· Collaborate with church leadership to ensure culture is aligned with the ministry.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

· Engage in individual spiritual growth activities (i.e. Bible study, Small Group, morning devotions)

· Engage in continuing professional growth and keep abreast of recent developments in education through in-service, classes, and/or research (30 hours per academic year).

· Develop and implement an Individual Professional Development Plan.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Model professional and ethical standards consistent with the Code of Ethics and Principles of Professional Conduct of Education Professionals in Florida.

· Perform and fulfill all professional responsibilities.

· Support school improvement initiatives.

· Recognize overt indicators of student distress or abuse and take stipulated action based on school procedures and law.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Light physical exertion on rare occasions as needed for moving objects or assisting students.

· Light Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

· Salary and benefits shall be paid 12 months out of the year.

· Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Administration.
