Position Summary

As a Human Resources Specialist you will be responsible for applying human resources expertise through various areas such as compensation & benefits, performance management, learning and development, employee engagement, and employee and labor relations to ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the HR department in the Okmulgee, OK manufacturing plant.

This is a unionized 24 / 7 manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage training budget and utilize LMS and other tracking methods to document and ensure all training is completed and documented timely.
  • Select and contract external training programs and consultants.
  • Mediate difficult interactions and facilitate conflict resolution meetings.
  • Conduct exit interviews making action recommendations as needed.
  • Lead challenging HR-related investigations and bring to closure by applying sound judgement and HR knowledge.
  • Maintain various records such as employee personnel and training files, shift calendars, turnover log, job descriptions, seniority roster, etc.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of human resource information system records, compiling reports from the database as needed, and presenting data and recommendations to managers.
  • Participate in recruiting efforts by coordinating career fairs, conducting interviews, obtaining reference checks, and managing interview logistics.
  • Administer the internal job bid / posting process.
  • Compose accurate, clear, and concise internal and external correspondence.
  • Troubleshoot and collaborate to ensure accuracy and compliance with payroll standards, including the administration of the perfect attendance program.
  • Serve as local SME (subject matter expert) on all union and non-union benefit programs and systems and lead the annual open enrolment process.
  • Coordinate new employee and contractor orientations and onboarding.
  • Support bi-annual performance review process and employee engagement surveys through communications and progress tracking.
  • Provide back-up coverage for HR Generalist as needed.
  • This is an onsite role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • One to five years experience in human resources or related area
  • Familiarity with State and Federal employment laws and other government compliance regulations.
  • Familiar with recruiting and hiring process for entry level positions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized, dependable, confidential, and accurate with ability to prioritize and plan effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and collaborative skills.
  • Professional integrity and sense of responsibility and accountability.
