Job Summary:

The Production Scheduler (PS) is a key business leader who is responsible for the certation and dissemination of multiple, weekly production schedules. The PS will drive production schedules, generated by customer demand, to control product inventory, resource requirements, and to confirm the plan is aligned to satisfy AWNC business objectives. The Production Scheduler will ensure all production schedules are cascaded to production control staff, manufacturing groups, and organizational leadership. This person will also communicate customer demand variances to external customers to confirm differences are accurate. The PS will liaise with Material Planning, Project Management, Logistics / Packaging, and Manufacturing to remove potential impediments to production plan execution. The PS is also responsible for maintenance of the production and inventory management systems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Create weekly production schedules to ensure deadlines are achieved
  2. Coordinate production operations in accordance with material, equipment, and labor availability
  3. Recommend solutions to reduce production costs and work cross-functionally to improve production planning processes and plan integrity
  4. Maintain / reconcile production plan to ensure cost effectiveness, while also meeting standard inventory and customer demand
  5. Prepare status and performance reports and reconcile production plans due to production issues and customer requirement changes
  6. Promptly communicate plan changes cross-functionally
  7. Work with customers and sales team to improve / confirm forecast accuracy
  8. Analyze overall volume, demand variations, material / packaging constraints, and capacity / resource issues to ensure integrity of Production Plan
  9. Lead weekly reviews with PC Staff
  10. Lead monthly reviews with Sales, Purchasing, and PC Staff
  11. Work with PC Leadership, Sales, and Project Management to support rollout of new products and holiday / seasonal inventory planning
  12. Manage and maintain production and inventory management systems (PLS, PCTS, SQL)
  13. Help in the training, coaching, and developing of the PC Planning Team
  14. Other related duties as required

Accountabilities:

  1. Confirm integrity of production plan and confirm daily production results
  2. Maintain communication and relationships with internal and external customers to ensure integrity of production plan data
  3. Manage inventory systems and align with market physical inventory
  4. Align PC Staff with demand expectations, adjustments, and plan variations

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Supply Chain or related discipline (or) Equivalent experience
  2. 2 - 5 years' experience in Planning, Supply Chain, or related role
  3. Intermediate analytical abilities and effective written and verbal communication skills
  4. Good relationship building skills
  5. Computer skills - Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  6. Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures
  7. Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  8. Ability to drive change with a self-starter mentality
