Position Title: Benefits Specialist

Location: Parsippany, NJ

Hourly Rate: $28-30/hr (Contract Position)

Job Description:

As a Benefits Specialist, you will play a crucial role in administering employee benefits programs and providing support to ensure their efficient operation. This position offers an hourly rate ranging from $28 to $30, commensurate with experience and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other ancillary benefits.
  2. Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefit inquiries, concerns, and issue resolution.
  3. Coordinate open enrollment processes, including communication, enrollment assistance, and data management.
  4. Collaborate with HR and payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits-related information.
  5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to employee benefits.
  6. Assist in the development and implementation of benefits policies, procedures, and documentation.
  7. Conduct benefits orientations and educational sessions for employees as needed.
  8. Prepare and distribute benefits-related communications, such as newsletters, announcements, and policy updates.
  9. Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations, contract review, and service level monitoring.
  10. Participate in special projects and initiatives related to benefits administration and employee well-being.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience (2 years) in benefits administration, preferably in a corporate environment.
  3. Thorough understanding of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and compliance requirements.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
  5. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  8. Knowledge of HRIS and benefits administration systems is preferred.
  9. Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
