- Must have a CDA, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education

- Must be at least 18 years of age, (must be 21 years of age to work with infants)

- Prior Childcare experience preferred

- Must be CPR/First Aid certified - or willingness to obtain (must renew yearly)

- Knowledge of Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana licensing standards preferred. Willingness to learn is a must.

- Professional dress and appearance is a must.

- Must be competent in language arts and math.

- Ability to interact professionally with adults and children with a positive attitude.

- Maintain confidentiality on job related tasks.

- Must be willing to learn, set professional goals, and participate in job related training.

Performance Responsibilities: Others may be assigned.

- Ensure the smooth operation of the classroom in a calm and consistent manner.

- Maintain a clean and safe classroom.

- Ensure the classroom meets all Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana State licensing

standards. Classrooms must be in compliance at all times.

- Strictly adhere to Safe Sleep guidelines for Child Care Centers.

- Monitor student’s progress; communicate milestones with parents.

- Administer record keeping on all children; including but not limited to daily records, monthly observations, and bi-annual progress reports.

- Use curriculum effectively and write lesson plans based on each child’s ability and developmental level.

- Maintain rapport with parents.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk;

stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or

move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift

and/or move up to 50 pounds.
