Job Description:

We are seeking a candidate to collaborate closely with our Chief Estimator and Group Managers, utilizing software tools and resources to support our estimating objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and precise takeoffs for Heavy Highway, Commercial, Industrial, and Environmental projects, ensuring they are clear and ready for review by the Chief Estimator and/or Group Managers.
  • Compile accurate material and line item quantities to aid the Chief Estimator and Project Managers in bid preparation.
  • Review and comprehend contractual terms and conditions thoroughly.
  • Assist the Chief Estimator and Project Managers in soliciting quotes and organizing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings as assigned by the Chief Estimator and/or Group Managers.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidates should possess an associate's or bachelor’s degree in Civil/Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related accredited program.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in civil engineering or construction management related to Transportation, Site-Civil, or Structural Infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, AGTEK, or similar CAD software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar PDF takeoff software.
  • Knowledge of HCSS HeavyBid or similar estimating software is preferred.
  • Ability to calculate and present quantities for earthworks, underground utilities, and materials, including spreadsheet processing.
  • Understanding of site and/or roadway grading, DTM creation, point management, alignment, and cross-section creation.
  • Surveying experience is advantageous.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Team player capable of collaborating with project managers and estimators across different offices.
  • Capability to interpret and comprehend construction plans and associated documents.
  • Effective at staying focused on tasks and meeting project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to mentor and train entry to mid-level positions within the estimating organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $64,299.72 - $77,436.23 per year
