Rising Tide Charter Public School is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Applicants must have a strong background in Special Education (a degree with a concentration in the subject area) as well as an interest in taking an inquiry- and skills-based approach to teaching and learning. Responsibilities include co-teaching core academic classes, supporting a caseload of students with IEPs, writing and updating IEPs and progress reports, and collaborating with other teachers to develop accommodations and modifications.Applicants must hold a Special Education license in Massachusetts, an equivalent license from another state, or have successfully completed an approved undergraduate or graduate program in special education.School Profile:Rising Tide Charter Public School (Rising Tide) is a free charter public school in Massachusetts. Rising Tide serves approximately 620 students in grades 5-12 from 20 towns in the school’s designated region; the majority of the students are residents of Plymouth. Rising Tide provides an academically challenging environment with high standards for all in a safe, small, and rewarding setting. Teachers develop the curriculum based upon the schoolwide objectives, benchmark skills, and subject area essential questions; the curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts State Frameworks. Teachers are encouraged to utilize an inquiry-based approach for building skills, content knowledge and understanding within the classroom. At Rising Tide, full-time teachers are a part of grade-level and curricular teams, are advisors for students, and are given opportunities for leadership within the school.
