Job Summary

We are looking for an Laboratory Animal Technician I to join our Insourcing Solutions team located in Poolesville, MD .

What you will do!

You will also be tasked with the following :

  • Monitoring daily animal health and welfare while performing daily animal health observations.
  • Animal husbandry duties include daily water bottle / automatic water line and cage checks; provide appropriate food and water;

environmental enrichment; perform cage changing and / or cage cleaning as required.

  • Maintain records related to the animal and facility functions; record animal health concerns and report as needed.
  • Assists with restraint, handling, and manipulation of various animal species.
  • Receive, inspect, and house incoming animals.

Other duties will include general housekeeping, in addition to reviewing, comprehending, and complying with all SOPs and quality assurance standards pertaining to specific area.

Who are we looking for?

A candidate that possesses a high school diploma or GED required, and experience with lab animals, specifically non-human primates, highly preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education / experience listed above.

Eligibility for the AALAS certification at the ALAT level required.

The pay for this position is $21.00 USD per hour.
