The Environmental Field Specialist at Motiva’s Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex holds a critical role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and driving continuous improvement in environmental programs.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintaining current knowledge and oversight within the Air Compliance Programs for Motiva’s Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex
  • Effectively working within a team setting to continuously evaluate and drive environmental program improvements
  • Working closely with Production and Maintenance team members to provide technical and compliance support in a timely manner
  • Application of risk identification and management processes for emerging regulatory issues and continuous improvement
  • Coordinating and managing the tracking of environmental performance and compliance to required environmental programs, goals, and report progress and variances to site leadership
  • Day-to-day management of department environmental activities
  • Complying with all Federal, State, and local environmental regulatory requirements, as well as company internal standards and requirements
  • Providing management with recommendations for programs that will achieve environmental compliance and drive continuous improvement
  • Participating in the site’s environmental on-call duty rotation to provide after-hours support when needed

Experience and Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline
  • 2 years of experience working in environmental air compliance programs

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Prior experience navigating and underwriting State and Federal environmental regulations
  • Prior experience using process data interface applications, emissions reporting, and incident tracking tools / databases, software such as MS Excel, regulatory reporting portals, etc.

Physical Requirements :

  • Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)
