Charlotte County Public Schools is Hiring an Early Childhood Teacher / 2024-2025 Near Port Charlotte, FL

Paygrade 5 - $21.80/Hr

Charlotte County Public Schools boasts a competitive compensation package* for employees. The Wellness Center provides no-cost preventative care, low-cost acute care appointments, behavioral health services, and prescription dispensing for select prescriptions at no additional cost! If an eligible employee does not need medical coverage, CCPS has a paid benefit opt-out option.

Qualifications: (Inclusive of federal guidelines as they pertain to Head Start positions)

  • Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or in a related field with required coursework, as stated in Head Start Performance Standards or 2 years Head Start classroom experience and willingness to obtain degree within 2 years – Governing body & Director approval required
  • Two years’ experience working with preschool children
  • Ability to pass health screening, including tuberculosis test, per Head Start Performance Standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida driver’s license and insurance
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.

Performance Responsibilites:

  • Develops and implements appropriate instructional plans and individualized learning experiences for 3-5-year-olds as prescribed by program curricula.
  • Establishes and maintains learning environments that meet all applicable state and federal health and safety standards.
  • Gathers, evaluates and utilizes ongoing child development assessment data.
  • Engages families in program activities by maintaining ongoing and open communication, including participation in conferences and home visits.
  • Meets all state and federal record-keeping and recording requirements.
  • Implements prescribed, individualized support, behavior and/or learning plans.
  • Practices positive child behavior and management techniques in the classroom.
  • Participates in requisite professional development activities.
  • Supports and supervises classroom volunteers and interns.
  • Maintains relevant, ongoing and open communication with coworkers and supervisory staff.
  • Works closely with partnering community agencies to provide quality, seamless services.
  • Performs assigned duties related to student on campus.
  • Performs other duties related to the job goal as directed.
