Cirrus Systems is Hiring a Manufacturing Operations Manager Near Portsmouth, NH

The Role

The Manufacturing Operations Manager owns the quality production of our LED signs and associated electronics hardware at Cirrus. As part of our expanding leadership team, this role will be responsible for the overall manufacturing process and leadership of all manufacturing areas, including mentoring of managers, staff development plans, KPI(s), process scaling and optimization and overall performance. This individual must be capable and eager to provide strategic leadership as well as routinely engage in hand-ons/roll up the sleeves activities to ensure the day-to-day needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, recruit, train, supervise and evaluate approximately 3 direct and 15 indirect reports
  • Participate in sales and operations planning to align equipment, facility and personnel capacities with product sales demand
  • Implement lean manufacturing techniques to minimize waste and maximize output
  • Responsible for the seamless phasing in and out of manufacturing technologies throughout the Product Life Cycle
  • Support Manufacturing Managers to develop Master Production Schedules (MPS) to align with sales demand
  • Support Manufacturing Engineers in developing robust and efficient manufacturing technologies and processes
  • Monitor production standards and implement quality-control programs to ensure finished products meet customer specifications and quality standards
  • Manage the development and optimization of the preventive maintenance program
  • Establish and maintain an orderly, efficient and visual flow of materials, parts, subassemblies and product through manufacturing
  • Responsible for direct labor cost targets and take action when targets are not met
  • Responsible for scrap cost targets and take action when targets are not met
  • Responsible for accuracy of WIP inventory
  • Ensure critical information is available and flows up and down through the organization
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical industrial field
  • Master’s degree in a technical industrial field or business administration preferred
  • Five years experience in similar technical industrial role, electronics preferred
  • Independent and high level of self-motivation
  • Ability to coach and motivate direct and indirect employees
  • Drive results with high sense of urgency and diplomacy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for duration of work day
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Close visual focus required
