As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing the accounts’ payable function, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with purchasing department to reconcile purchase orders with invoices and resolve any discrepancies.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and process payments for vendors and providers.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to address inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Assist in month-end closing activities and provide support for financial reporting as needed.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements to streamline accounts payable workflows and enhance efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 2 years of accounts payable experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Prior experience in a retail or franchise environment is a plus.
