Medical Assistant:
We are seeking a full-time or part-time Medical Assistant with at least one year of clinical experience (preferred) for a busy psychiatric practice. Applicant must have previous experience as a medical assistant and/or 1 year of experience working in a medical/psychiatric office setting. Must possess a friendly demeanor/positive attitude, strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, have good time management skills, strong verbal/written communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Greet patients, visitors, vendors, and pharmaceutical representatives that visit the office; obtain vital signs on patients arriving to the office; collect urine drug screens and other non-invasive labs offered in the office; field/redirect phone calls to the appropriate staff member and respond to voicemails/emails in a timely manner; utilize the office EMR system to collect/update patient information and schedule new and follow-up appointments; assist providers with responding to correspondence, including email and physical letters; perform additional administrative functions when needed, which can include providing patients with aftercare information and/or contacting patients to collect invoice payment; maintaining full compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other state/federal regulations.
