Summary
Job Summary: Plans and administers physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone pathology, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Works under the supervision of a Physical Therapist according to KSBHA rules and regulations. Administers physical therapy treatments according to a physical therapist’s plan of care. This includes therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait training, neuromuscular reeducation, modalities and any other approved and acceptable therapy treatments as deemed appropriate and necessary. Documents and records daily treatment notes in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner. Documents and inputs appropriate and accurate treatment charges. Instructs and demonstrates to patients and family members home exercises programs as needed. Performs both outpatient and inpatient treatments. Communicates with physical therapist in regards to completion of treatment plans, need for further physical therapy updates or documentation, and any other pertinent patient information.
Job Qualifications: Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or university with a Physical Therapy Assistant degree. Physical Therapy Assistance license by KSBHA. One (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
