Terminal Operator
Tasks/responsibilities
- Ability to operate and conduct general maintenance on cement handling equipment (pneumatic pumps, hoses, fittings, air slides and valves)
- As scheduled, will take part in the discharge of cement from our marine vessels to pneumatic tanks/storage silo’s.
- Will perform the loading of trucks/customers/carriers using the proper SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for each task.
- Maintains grounds: offices, warehouse, yard, Shovels and cleans various areas of the distribution center
- Carry’s out tasks, related to our re-claiming operations. This includes front-end loader operations within our storage warehouse.
- Assists with general mechanical maintenance and inspections for stationary equipment such as ventilation systems, dust extractors, compressors, and blowers.
- Participate in temporary assignments when requested.
- Help the supervisor in optimize the utilization rate of the terminal operating equipment and follow-up.
- Complete various reports related to distribution.
- Maintain proper customer service to clients and carriers
- Maintain and record inventory (SAP & excel spreadsheets)
- Execute other related tasks requested by your supervisor

- Uses safe practices when carrying out tasks, and complies with current procedures, laws and regulations. Always wears proper PPE for each task.
- Always follows St. Marys Cement inc. safety guidelines and policies
- Foster a positive attitude of prevention amongst all stakeholders.
- Carries out duties in a manner that respects the environment and is in keeping with company procedures, laws and regulations (whenever applicable).

- Will be acceptable, to all training and certification for safe working procedures
Competencies (specific knowledge, aptitudes, skills, behaviors)

- Strong maintenance background
- Industrial mechanical experience preferred

- Have experience in the use of Computer (Microsoft Office word, Excel and outlook for email).
- Having the ability to work safely and calmly, during time sensitive situations.
- Knowledge in cement and the construction industry is an asset.
Hiring Requirements
- Valid Driver’s license
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- The ability to obtain a TWIC card in relation to our site security plan
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
