Job Title: Camp Counselor
Job Summary:
Join our team as a Camp Counselor and make a positive impact on the lives of children in a fun and engaging summer camp environment. As a Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for supervising and leading camp activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of campers, and creating memorable experiences for children.
Duties:
- Lead and supervise a group of campers throughout daily activities
- Plan and implement engaging and age-appropriate recreational programs
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to campers
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times
- Assist in organizing special events, field trips, and camp-wide activities
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members
- Enforce camp rules and behavior expectations with positive reinforcement
- Handle any behavioral issues or conflicts that may arise among campers
- Maintain a clean and organized camp environment
Skills:
- Experience in sports coaching or leading recreational activities
- Background in daycare or working with children in an educational setting
- Knowledge of childhood development principles
- Strong classroom management skills
- First aid certification is a plus
- Theater or performing arts background is beneficial
- Familiarity with Christian counseling practices (nice-to-have)
- Ability to effectively manage behavior and resolve conflicts among children
- Previous experience working with children of various ages
