YMCA is Hiring a Facilities Director Near Rye, NY

Exciting opportunity to join a progressive, cause-driven YMCA located in Rye NY, just 33 miles north of NYC on beautiful Long Island Sound.
Job Description

Directs the maintenance and improvement operations of the Rye YMCA facilities and vehicles, including preventative maintenance and related budgets.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Facility Management or a related field is required

· Five or more years experience in facility management or closely related field is required

· Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas

· Skills in supervision, budget management and project management

· “POOL” operation certification required within 120 days of employment

· Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards

· Familiarity with personal computers helpful

· Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations

Essential Functions

1. Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing
preventative maintenance.

2. Supervision of all housekeeping and custodial staff, and independent contractors, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness.

3. Maintain all building records including time sheets, inventory of supplies, service contract and maintenance/cleaning procedures.

4. Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems and equipment (HVAC and Controls) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Rye YMCA. Works with the Wellness Center staff to provide preventive maintenance for all fitness equipment, work with Aquatics staff to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of both swimming pools, oversee inspections and scheduling of preventive maintenance of YMCA vehicles.

5. Ensures repair work and projects are completed in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.

6. Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.

7. Develops budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget.

8. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs assigned staff and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.

9. Participates with other members of management team in the YMCA’s annual fundraising campaign.

10. Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.

11. Oversee flood mitigation plan for the facility and ensure staff are properly trained to mobilize all flood gates/doors.

12. Updates facility plans periodically. May develop annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCA’s strategic plan and community needs.

13. Assists with providing leadership to Facilities Committee of the Board.

14. Must be on call for emergencies including ensuring installation of flood gates when necessary.

15. Coordinate and facilitate Y Facility Committee meetings.
