They're looking for a driven Assistant Controller who has experience working in the defense industry, and who can manage a team of 3, with the leadership abilities to progress into a VP of Finance.

Compensation and Benefits of the Assistant Controller

• $100,000-$140,000 Base Salary

Primary Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller

• Leads the monthly closing, financial reporting and analysis in a compressed 3-day reporting schedule.
• Assist the controller in monthly/quarterly/annually forecasting/budgeting as needed
• Develops business analyses to help identify areas to improve financial performance and support business decision making.
• Assist controller to monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Key Financial Indicators (KFI) to identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements
• Participates in cost productivity reviews and validates cost savings on a quarterly basis.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and SOX requirements. Coordination of all external audit activities including timely provision of audit schedules as required.
• Oversees the cost accounting activities to ensure the ongoing accuracy of product cost information in an actual cost system.
• Oversees Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, as well as ensuring all account reconciliations are completed on a timely basis

Basic Qualifications of the Assistant Controller:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting is required with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant defense experience
• Experience managing people, projects, and tasks ensuring appropriate responsiveness and priority.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
