Our client - a research-driven pharmaceutical company focused on treatment options for diseases and conditions for which there is no satisfactory treatment option - is seeking a Scientist to join their growing team!
Type: Contract (two years)
Location: Ridgefield, CT
Rate: Up to 49/hrJob Description:
  • Perform various functional genomics assays including bulk RNA-seq and single cell-seq on tissue, cell, or nuclei suspensions.
  • Develop and execute PCR-based assays such as qPCR and qRT-PCR with precision and reliability.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Execute routine procedures independently, troubleshoot effectively, and solve scientific problems with rigor and efficiency.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies, apply scientific principles, and uphold rigorous standards of data integrity and ethics.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, with a focus on next-generation sequencing (NGS) and functional genomics.
  • Proven expertise in developing and optimizing molecular assays, including in vitro cell-based assays and PCR-based techniques.
  • Proficiency in cell culture techniques and the ability to work independently with laboratory automation and software programming experience considered advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrated through the ability to author protocols, present scientific findings, and collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
