Robert Half is Hiring an Accounts Receivable Clerk Near Ridgeland, SC

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in the local government sector, based in Ridgeland, South Carolina. This role involves providing services to businesses in the unincorporated areas of Jasper County, including handling business licenses and sign permits, collecting local taxes, and enforcing related county ordinances.
Responsibilities
  • Issue and renew business licenses and billboard/sign permits.
  • Collect fees, write customer receipts, balance cash drawer, and make bank deposits.
  • Balance cash reports for monies received from payments for business licenses and billboard/sign permits.
  • Conduct field audits of business billboards and signs.
  • Patrol the county to monitor billboards and signs, issuing citations and notices of violations as required.
  • Maintain logs related to inspection and enforcement activities.
  • Receive and review monthly local accommodations tax and hospitality tax return.
  • Reconcile accommodations and hospitality tax returns with the list of business licenses issued.
  • Maintain a written record of accommodation and hospitality tax returns received with amounts paid.
  • Review returns for timeliness and correctness.
  • Perform periodic audits of business license holders to determine the accuracy of revenue reporting.
Skills required include Account Reconciliation, Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Cash Applications, Cash Collections, Commercial Collections, Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.
