After School All Stars Tampa Bay is Hiring a Certified Teacher (Afterschool) Near Riverview, FL

Are you eager to make a difference in the lives of Tampa Bay's youth? Then this job is for you! ASAS Tampa Bay is seeking dedicated certified teachers, experienced in elementary or secondary education, who are passionate about helping students succeed in school and in life! The Teacher is a part-time position responsible for assisting the Site Coordinator in planning and leading the academic enrichment programs of a 3rd-12th grade ASAS Tampa Bay program site in Hillsborough County.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, plan and lead academic enrichment programs for elementary, middle, or high school students
  • Provide direct instruction and tutoring
  • Supervise assigned youth to ensure student safety
  • Maintain order and provide behavior management
  • Ensure the school rules and policies are reflected in daily practice
  • Attend trainings/meetings as required
  • Work in partnership with other staff, teachers, and the Site Coordinator to ensure that program activities are exciting and relevant to youth, as well as organized and well-thought-out
  • Maintain professional and positive relationships with school staff, students, and parents
  • Site location and hours may vary based on programming needs

Experience and Education

  • A valid Florida teaching certificate is required
  • 1 year or more of teaching experience (elementary, middle, or high school) required
  • Familiarity with Florida education standards and teaching methods required
  • Must be Kknowledgeable about developmental needs of children and teens, and have a passion for working with under-served teens
  • Must pass a level II background check

**There is no relocation benefit associated with this position. Applicants must be able to commute to the school location in Riverview, FL*

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
