ASAS Tampa Bay is seeking dedicated certified teachers, experienced in elementary or secondary education, who are passionate about helping students succeed in school and in life! The Teacher is a part-time position responsible for assisting the Site Coordinator in planning and leading the academic enrichment programs of a 3rd-12th grade ASAS Tampa Bay program site in Hillsborough County.

Responsibilities Include:

• Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, plan and lead academic enrichment programs for elementary, middle, or high school students
• Provide direct instruction and tutoring
• Supervise assigned youth to ensure student safety
• Maintain order and provide behavior management
• Ensure the school rules and policies are reflected in daily practice
• Attend trainings/meetings as required
• Work in partnership with other staff, teachers, and the Site Coordinator to ensure that program activities are exciting and relevant to youth, as well as organized and well-thought-out
• Maintain professional and positive relationships with school staff, students, and parents
• Site location and hours may vary based on programming needs

Experience and Education

• A valid Florida teaching certificate is required
• 1 year or more of teaching experience (elementary, middle, or high school) required
• Familiarity with Florida education standards and teaching methods required
• Must be Kknowledgeable about developmental needs of children and teens, and have a passion for working with under-served teens
• Must pass a level II background check

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
