CAVE SPRING UNITED METHODIST CHURCH Weekday Preschool seeks caring, kind, loving individuals to join our staff. Must have a heart for caring for children! Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Early childhood education or experience caring for young children is preferred but not required.
We seek caregivers Monday through Friday from 1:45 to 5:45 p.m. The classes range from ages 12 months to 5 years.
This position is from August 15, 2024, through May 29, 2025. We follow Roanoke County Public Schools’ calendar for start and end dates, closings and delays, and holidays.
FBI Fingerprinting and CPS background checks will be performed. A physician-signed staff health report must be on file. Must be able to lift 40 pounds, bend, sit on the floor, etc.
Duties
Weekday School Co-Teacher responsibilities include ensuring children are always supervised, carrying out provided lesson plans, establishing and following classroom routines, and assisting children with organized activities and experiences, including songs, games, and storytelling using the provided curriculum. They also maintain a neat and orderly classroom, integrate special needs children positively and respectfully, communicate with parents as needed, collaborate with other teachers, and attend staff meetings.
Requirements

• Enforce rules or policies governing student behavior.
• Read to students.
• Monitor student behavior, social development, or health.
• Discuss problems or issues with supervisors.
• Discuss student progress with parents or guardians.
