What you’ll do: The Quote Specialist is responsible for understanding and capturing the program scope as it relates to product & process development, manufacturing cost elements, and leading the development of the quote based on that scope. You will assure the quote process is followed, ultimately delivering quotes that are well documented, accurate estimates, on-time, and assuring that all required information is entered into the Product Lifecycle Management systems to facilitate operational planning.

Duties / Responsibilities of this position:

• Utilize the quote process to develop accurate and competitive quotes.
• Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to maintain the various tables that drive the quote system (line rates, expected profit by product type etc.)
• Maintain the quoting tool/table for standard products (tapes, etc)
• Complete the quotations in accordance to the L&L procedures
• Assure all inputs and assumptions related to the quote are clearly documented and reviewed in quote scrub reviews prior to submitting quotes to customers.
• Monitor and track quote status, follow up on outstanding quotes, and provide regular updates to relevant parties.
• Develop and implement strategies to streamline the quote process and improve efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to address any questions or concerns regarding quotes.
• Ownership of the Circle of Life process which consists of conducting reviews with the various process engineering departments in order to feed the quote system with the most up to date/accurate inputs.
• Backup Quote Manager as needed
• Develop tools that can help to improve the quote process and track efficiency/effectiveness

Job Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business or Accounting, or equivalent years of experience
• Experience in companies developing and producing components used in the automotive industry ideally including manufacturing processes of injection molding, extruding, resin compounding, metal forming and assembly.
• Communication skills (both written and oral)
• Ability to analyze and draw conclusions from data
• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Customer appropriate data management systems
• L&L quoting systems
• Appropriate Oracle training specific to the quote process
