Confidential Posting is Hiring a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Director Near Rosemont, IL
We are a leading player in the food manufacturing industry seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Food Safety/Quality Assurance Manager. This position is critical to ensuring our commitment to the highest standards of food safety and quality across our operations in the USA.
Ensures that all units in the company meets or exceeds the regulatory standards for food safety and product integrity at all times. Leads the QA teams and direct audits, inspections, and consults to ensure understanding and compliance with applicable standards. Monitors all integrated programs to assure the quality and regulatory compliance standards are met for food, beverage, ingredients, and supply items manufactured, distributed and sold by the company. Works closely with vendors to order and maintain food grade chemicals within the facility and keeps appropriate par levels of these items. Ensures SDS are in place for all chemicals and all necessary PPE are in stock. Work closely with managers to ensure effective implementation of new products or new practices. Oversees complaint investigations and ensures corrective action is being reported and followed up on. Monitors hygiene training and development supporting staff in new hire orientation, retraining and annual retraining partnering with HR.
- Travel is required to all units on a rotational basis.
Qualifications for this role include deep knowledge of HACCP, ISO, SQF, and food safety systems, along with relevant certifications such as Food Safety Certification and PCQI. The ideal candidate should be proactive, self-organized, capable of managing a substantial workload, and possess excellent communication skills. Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Hygiene and Quality Assurance, preferably in a food manufacturing site.
