School Counselor
Duties:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students on various issues such as academic performance, personal development, and career planning.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop strategies to support student success.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Assist students in setting goals and developing action plans to achieve academic and personal growth.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies or difficult situations.
- Facilitate workshops and presentations on topics such as bullying prevention, stress management, and study skills.
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student progress.
- Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in school counseling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a school counselor.
- Experience working with students in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
- Experience in sports coaching, tutoring, theater, daycare, or early childhood education is a plus.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and Christian counseling principles is desirable.
