Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to assist with our design and manufacturability of our products. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and efficacy of manufacturing processes, tools, and product change releases for all work centers.

Job duties:

* Collaborate with design engineers and project managers to develop products and improve existing designs

* Develop and implement manufacturing processes and tools required to release product design changes into production

* Conduct feasibility studies and evaluative equipment and material options to determine the best manufacturing processes, technologies, and materials to use.

Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including standard operating procedures, process flow charts, and work instructions.

* Review product designs for manufacturability, improvements and cost savings.

* Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing problems and develop and implement corrective actions

* Work closely with production teams to ensure all work centers are operating efficiently and meeting production schedules

* Establish quality checks procedures for new manufactured products and set quality standards.

* Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technologies and processes.

Required Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years experience in manufacturing setting
• Engineering/Engineering Technology Degree - Industrial/Mechanical preferred
• Strong soft skills – ability to develop rapport with Operators and other departments
• 3D Modeling – SolidWorks preferred // 3D printing experience as well
• Tooling, fixture, machine design abilities
• Strong troubleshooting skills - electrical experience would help here.
• Ability to safely use power tools, hand tools, small assembly – desire to work with hands
• General computer literacy

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience in successfully taking a design from concept through prototype/test and into production manufacturing
• Experience with electromechanical components
• Capable of solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
• Lean Six Sigma certification or lean manufacturing experience
• Sheet metal fabrication experience (Turret Punch, Brake Press, Roll Form, etc.…)
• Programming (VB, Python, or C#) a plus
• Basic electrical design and troubleshooting
• Metal fabrication design experience
• ERP/MRP exposure
• Local candidates are preferred
