Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, ensuring their well-being and comfort throughout their journey.
Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions to treatments
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on treatment options, side effects, and self-care techniques
- Perform venipuncture for blood draws and IV infusions
- Assist in laboratory procedures related to oncology treatments
- Provide acute pain management interventions
- Conduct suture removals and wound care as needed
- Utilize Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems for documentation
Requirements:
- Valid RN license and BLS certification
- Previous experience in oncology, critical care, or a hospital setting preferred
- Proficiency in venipuncture, IV infusion, and occupational health practices
- Knowledge of CT scans and other diagnostic procedures common in oncology
- Familiarity with acute pain management techniques
- Ability to suture wounds when necessary
