Viking Drill & Tool, Inc. is Hiring a CNC Machinist Near Saint Paul, MN

As a leading tool manufacturer committed to excellence in quality, consistency, service, and value, we are currently in search of a dedicated CNC Machinist to join our team.

What you will do:

  • Full time position (40 hours plus per week)
  • Set-up, adjust and operate a variety of CNC machines
  • Operate, set-up and program both milling and turning machines
  • Read and understand layouts, blueprints, related technical data and job packets
  • Knowledge of G&M code.
  • MasterCam software knowledge and experience
  • Read and understand prints
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area
  • Adjust, repair and maintain tooling
  • Daily and weekly maintenance of machines
  • Follow procedures and recommend improvements
  • Side operations during machine cycle time
  • Work as a team member to continue to provide quality parts on time
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will bring:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must have 2 years machining experience and/or Trade School Degree
  • Be fluent in English language, both verbal and written
  • Must be a self-starter and require minimal supervision.
  • Position is 40 hours /week and must be willing to work occasional overtime
  • Full understanding of blue print reading, geometric tolerance, and inspection procedures

Physical Demand Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for the shift and requires frequent bending and stooping and ability to be in
  • contact with mild metal cutting fluids
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Show proficiency of turning, milling, drilling, grinding, tapping, and deburring
  • Also requires occasional use of stairs, crouching and kneeling and reaching above the shoulders.
  • Shop math and trigonometry proficient
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
