Viking Drill & Tool, Inc. is Hiring a CNC Machinist Near Saint Paul, MN
As a leading tool manufacturer committed to excellence in quality, consistency, service, and value, we are currently in search of a dedicated CNC Machinist to join our team.
What you will do:
- Full time position (40 hours plus per week)
- Set-up, adjust and operate a variety of CNC machines
- Operate, set-up and program both milling and turning machines
- Read and understand layouts, blueprints, related technical data and job packets
- Knowledge of G&M code.
- MasterCam software knowledge and experience
- Read and understand prints
- Maintain a clean, safe work area
- Adjust, repair and maintain tooling
- Daily and weekly maintenance of machines
- Follow procedures and recommend improvements
- Side operations during machine cycle time
- Work as a team member to continue to provide quality parts on time
- Other duties as assigned
What you will bring:
- High School diploma or GED
- Must have 2 years machining experience and/or Trade School Degree
- Be fluent in English language, both verbal and written
- Must be a self-starter and require minimal supervision.
- Position is 40 hours /week and must be willing to work occasional overtime
- Full understanding of blue print reading, geometric tolerance, and inspection procedures
Physical Demand Requirements
- Must be able to stand for the shift and requires frequent bending and stooping and ability to be in
- contact with mild metal cutting fluids
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Show proficiency of turning, milling, drilling, grinding, tapping, and deburring
- Also requires occasional use of stairs, crouching and kneeling and reaching above the shoulders.
- Shop math and trigonometry proficient
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
