About the role :
The Senior Web Developer works alongside the web manager to drive ongoing enhancements to the website design, user experience and architecture. As part of the role, you'll be tasked with the development of new features in a modular and extensible fashion, aimed at enhancing usability and the overall experience for both internal users involved in content management within the CMS and external users visiting the website.
Location : This is an office-based position that requires 3 days/week onsite at our HQ in San Mateo, CA.
How you'll make an impact :

• Engage in close collaboration with the web manager and design team to envision and update the website, while assessing and enhancing current pages, design elements, and information architecture
• Work alongside the web manager to overhaul the information architecture and back end data structures
• Continuously assess and improve website performance through identifying bottlenecks, optimizing code and leveraging caching to improve speed and responsiveness

What makes you a good fit :

• Demonstrable portfolio of high quality, animated, responsive, best-in-class websites and pages for high-end enterprise-focused audiences
• 5 years of demonstrated expertise in full-stack development of web initiatives, including but not limited to website redesigns, website stack modifications, and digital campaigns
• Understanding of modular content management systems and their implementation
• Passion for creating clean, responsive design that works across both desktop and mobile
• Ability to diagnose and address cross-browser compatibility issues
• Ability to work autonomously and efficiently, include the capacity to read, analyze and debug code effectively without extensive documentation
• Solid understanding of web UX principles and information architecture
• Proficient in making requests to external APIs and the ability to design and create APIs, where needed, for enhanced functionality and user experiences

Compensation Range : The annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
