Le Marché Bakery & Cafe is Hiring an Assistant Baker Near Shelburne, VT

Bakers:

Beautiful downtown Shelburne, Vermont French inspired Bakery, Cafe and Market, seeking creative, hands-on culinary professionals to join our team. Looking for experienced bakers to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries or other sweet goods. Your skill in baking high quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new amazing tastes. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations. Working and learning from our head pastry chef specialized in French Pasties and leavening Doughs and some Breads. Also Working with Cafe Chefs, Baristas and Front service staff to create a Beautiful French inspired Bakery, Cafe & Market and helping give back to our community.

We are willing to train the right candidate, if you don't have a ton of baking experience.

An attractive compensation package (commensurate with experience) is offered, including: Paid One & Two Week Paid Vacation time, Sick Time, 401K participation, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Performance & Profit Based Bonus, 50% Discount, 15% Tips and other benefits offered.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
  • Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
  • Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards

Skills:

  • Great attention to detail and creativity
  • Organizing and cleaning skills
  • Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
  • People Skills.
  • Follow recipes.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
