Position Summary:

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for supporting the Controller to maintain financial records, running reports for management, and recording a wide range of financial transactions. These transactions may include client and vendor payments, tracking overdue invoices, bank account and credit card reconciliations and employee commissions.

Key Responsibilities:

· Daily utilization of QuickBooks to process transactions, invoices and journal entries.

· Receiving and recording vouchers, cash and checks

· Supporting the Controller with a variety of reports including income statements and balance sheets and client remittances.

· Checking for accuracy in reports and postings

· Reconciling and reporting any discrepancies found in the reports or postings

Key Competencies:

· Computer skills: The Accounting Clerk should be comfortable using QuickBooks Online, Excel, and other various business systems used by the accounting function in support of the business.

· Detail-oriented: The Accounting Clerk is responsible for doing accounting related work in a timely and accurate manner.

· Integrity: The Accounting Clerk is in control of the financial information of the company, and this information should be used appropriately and kept confidential.

· Math skills: The Accounting Clerk will work with numbers on a daily basis and need to be comfortable with a range of mathematical operations.

· Work independently: The Accounting Clerk should have the ability to recognize when numbers don’t appear to be correct, investigate and determine if corrective action is needed and bring it to the attention of the Controller.

Requirements:

· At least 5 Years of Accounting related experience

· Associates degree preferred but not required if

· Proven ability to handle core accounting tasks i.e., Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank and Credit Card reconciliations, bank deposits and reconciling accounts on weekly and monthly basis.

· System experience including intermediate to advanced Excel and QuickBooks skills and proven ability to pick up and use other business systems
