Job Description
The City of Snoqualmie is currently seeking a highly skilled Systems VoIP Engineer to support the implementation of new internal communication and phone systems. In this role, you will work with complex systems, to integrate new technology to help meet the communication needs of the city. If you’re reliable in delivering mission-critical infrastructure with an eye toward accessibility, optimization, and security, we’d like to hear from you.
Objectives of this Role
• Manage and monitor phone infrastructure and system installations, including configurations, testing, and maintenance
• Implement and maintain backups, security, and redundancy strategies
• Identify potential issues and integrate possible solutions
• Engage with department leadership regularly with reports on project status, activities, and achievements
Responsibilities
• Migrating a Private Branch Exchange (PBX) phone system to a Cisco system.
• Deploying desktop phones and transferring CenturyLink numbers to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).
• The secure Implementation of Jabber for both desktop and mobile users inside and outside of the city network.
• Establishing Jabber message archive in compliance with city and state retention policies.
• Configuration of the phone tree for the City’s mainline and department numbers.
• Test hardware and software for bugs, redundancies, and security issues
