In this role you will support individuals with disabilities by providing comprehensive career planning, interview assistance and on-the-job advice. You will partner with individuals and businesses throughout the Cape Cod Community and aid Community Connections in their mission to provide optimal independence and enriching services to people with disabilities. We are looking for an Employment Specialist with a commitment to compassion, mentoring others and serving the community.

What You'll Do as an Employment Specialist:

  • Create and implement employment plans
  • Place individuals in community based jobs that are consistent with their employment service goal
  • Maintain relationships with community businesses to secure employment opportunities for individuals we serve
  • Provide supervision and job support
  • Document individuals' progress toward employment plan objectives and keep up-to-date case records
  • Develop and expand opportunities for community integration to address the employment, social, and recreational interests of the individuals we serve

What You'll Need as an Employment Specialist:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Bachelor's Degree in human service or business field preferred
  • 1 year's experience and/or training working with individuals with disabilities
  • Valid driver's license, access to a motor vehicle, and satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Strong computer and word processing skills
